Commandment #5: Don't Piss on My Head and Tell Me its Raining.

I will point out two things right away. The first being that I understand that this commandment is not politically correct. The second being that this commandment is self explanatory. If you've never heard of this phrase, look it up. In a world where there is an abundance of deceit, lying, cheating, backstabbing etc; following this commandment, puts you on a fast track on your way to getting nice. Although we both know that there are some awful people in this world, don't misconstrue my words; I do not believe that most people are any of the aforementioned adjectives. What I am saying is that in this day and age, people are so concerned about not hurting ones feelings that they will be passive, beat around the bush, and sugar coat any situation. The hallmark of getting nice is the exact opposite of this and you will stand out from the majority of the population by not "pissing on a head and telling them its raining." The goal is to be as direct as possible and tell it like it is. Trust me when I say that in the overall picture, you are doing someone a serious disservice by not being truthful even though it may be painful. Nobody likes being lied to, so be honest and tell it to them straight. Don't hit them with some sort of untruthful, comforting preface. Just say it and move on with it.
